Evansville, UIndy last two standing among Indiana programs

Evansville (37-24) is one victory from being a stage away from the College World Series and one loss from the end of the 2024 baseball season.

Wes Carroll‘s No. 4 seed Purple Aces are 2-1 in the NCAA Division I Greenville Regional and face No. 1 seed East Carolina in a winner-take-all game at noon today (June 3) for the right to make it to a best-of-three super regional. The game is to air of ESPNU.

Winners of eight super regional series punch their ticket to Omaha. 

The curtain came down for both Indiana State and Indiana.

No. 2 seed Indiana State had a 2-2 showing at the Lexington Regional. The Mitch Hannahs-coached Sycamores wound up the season at 44-15.

No. 3 seed Indiana went 1-2 in the Knoxville Regional. The Jeff Mercer-coached Hoosiers finished at 33-26-1.

No. 7 seed Indianapolis (41-20) lost in its first contest at the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C.

The Al Ready-coached Greyhounds play next in an elimination game on Tuesday, June 4.

No. 10 seed Indiana University Southeast saw its 2024 campaign come to a close by going 1-2 in the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. 

In Brett Neffendorf’s first season as head coach, the Grenadiers finished 37-20.

Hope International (Calif.) wound up taking the red banner.
