Bishop Dwenger’s Thomas chosen 2024 Dick Crumback/NEIBA High School Player of the Year

Brayton Thomas has been voted as the 2024 Dick Crumback/Northeast Indiana Baseball Association High School Player of the Year.

Thomas, a senior left-handed pitcher and Indiana University commit, plays at Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne for Saints coach head Jason Garrett

Dwenger won the 2024 Summit Athletic Conference title and is now competing in the IHSAA Class 3A Angola Sectional.

Thomas, chosen from among several area players, will be honored pre-game at the Fort Wayne TinCaps game on Tuesday, June 4. 

He will also be saluted at the NEIBA Hall of Fame induction banquet on Sunday, June 9. The event begins at 6 p.m.

The Dwenger baseball program will also receive a $1,000 donation from the Crumback family and the Fort Wayne Baseball Federation in honor of Dick Crumback.

Previous Crumback Player of the Year selections are DeKalb’s Parker Smith (2023), Heritage’s Dalton Wasson (2022), Homestead’s Carter Mathison (2021) and South Adams’ Grant Besser (2019). No award was given with the cancellation of the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
